Started by two students. Powered by a community.
The Street Health Project is a student-led nonprofit in Cedar Rapids and Marion, Iowa. We collect donated medical and hygiene supplies, pack them into kits, and get them to the people who need them most.
Giving back to the community we live in.
It’s estimated that more than 17,000 people in Iowa lack basic necessities and housing. We can’t fix that on our own, but we can make sure the basics are within reach: a toothbrush, clean gauze, a pair of socks.
We’re run by high school students, and we do the work ourselves. We ask local businesses and clinics for donations, sort the supplies, pack every kit by hand, and bring the kits to unhoused neighbors and local shelters.
We’ve also completed our first international donation, to Lions Club of Kanchipuram Host in India. It’s a first step, and we’re proud of it.
We strive to support these underprivileged communities by organizing and donating medical supplies and making kits supplied with basic necessities to donate to these communities and local shelters.
The people behind every kit.
Our two co-founders lead the work day to day, alongside 8+ student volunteers who help pack kits and run donation drives. Together, the founders also organized our first international donation, to Kanchipuram, India.

How we try to do this right.
Dignity first
Everyone deserves the basics. We pack every kit with care and hand it over with respect, because that’s the whole point.
Credit where it’s due
Our partners make this possible, so every donation we show is credited to the organization that gave it.
Honest numbers
We’re a young organization and our numbers are early. We report what actually happened, and we update them as we grow.
Early numbers, and growing.
These numbers change often. If you’re citing them anywhere, ask us for the latest.
